Tough Times Call for Simple Additions
With the economy in the shape it is in it is really tough to consider home decor or other items that are not on our essential needs list like gas, food and enough money to pay our mortgage or utility bills. Many people across the globe are depressed because they can barely afford to stay afloat and the depression deepens when we can't afford a few items that would make our mental health better.
While home decor for most isn't considered an "essential", it is in fact what can make the difference in making us feel good. Candles with fragrances can change our moods quickly. When is the last time you sat down to watch a movie or read a book with a nice candle burning? If you haven't done that in a while try it, you will be amazed how different you feel. I recently was watching a movie but my mind was wondering around and so I got up and got a candle to burn. After a couple minutes for whatever reason I found myself in a different state of mind. I guess because the candle I was burning had a fresh scent and let me enjoy just watching TV for a change. Psychologist have often said sometimes it is those little things in our lives that can make all the difference, eating a chocolate bar works for some, taking a 15 minute bath for others and having the nice subtle light of a candle along with a pleasing aroma works for others. If you are down in the dumps get a candle with your favorite scent and simple enjoy. I have t o admit I used to buy the cheap candles, you know what I'm talking about...the jarred candles that cost about $2.00 only to figure out that the scent was gone in about 15 minutes and it would constantly quit burning. So I decided to splurge with a $24.00 candle, yeah, $24.00 today is a splurge!!! The candle burnt longer and the fragrance never went away, it burned evenly and I could still smell the aroma after the candle was put out! Now that's what I consider a good return for my money!! WoodWick candles come in a lot of fragrances and they have a real woood wick, hence the name, and sound like a real crackling fire, which was something else good for my soul. The next time you are in the market for a candle for your home's decor consider initially spending more for longer results. Do you have a favorite brand of candle? If so, please share! In the meantime here is a few of my favs. Linen Bouquet , Gardenia Lily. What's your favorite scent, I'd love to know. Til the next time...
